Paediatric dentistry refers to dentistry for the child and adolescent.

It encompasses a broad range of treatments ranging from simple procedures to encourage normal dental development, to complex restoration of badly broken down dentitions often with the assistance of specialist Paedodontists and or sedation.

Obviously patient age, demeanour and treatment needs will determine what care can be provided in the dental chair with, without the benefit of inhalational sedation (laughing gas). Our primary aim however, is to ensure a positive experience that one can then build upon in years to come.

Depending on child and treatment requirements, the dentist may request parents and or guardians wait in reception during clinical appointments.

Course of Action
At Dental Sense we will initially complete comprehensive clinical and radiographic examination, so as to assess suitability for treatment within the dental chair. If sedation is required, an introductory visit will be scheduled. If the child feels comfortable and confident, and treatment needs are not deemed excessive given patient age, then management can be scheduled in house. Beyond this, specialist assistance will be sought.

Do you provide a warranty?
We provide a 3-year warranty against mechanical failure for all treatment provided, assuming patients comply with treatment plans in their entirety, with work being replaced at health fund rebate or equivalent.
