Janet Haines - Dental Therapist
Janet commenced employment with Dr Lego in February 2006. She has previously worked with children performing therapist’s duties for the past 18 years within the school setting in both country and metropolitan regions.
Since 2000, Janet has been pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion at Curtin University of Technology where she will be graduating at the end of 2006. She has also completed the Orthodontic theory course for hygienists and therapists in 1999 run by the Australian Society of Orthodontics (Western Australia).
A Health Promotion degree encompasses skills in scientific understanding of the human body with the knowledge and skills for addressing health issues, promoting health in individuals and the community, gaining appropriate knowledge and skills in the principles and the processes of planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion programs in various settings including clinical, school, worksite and the community.
During her studies, Janet has worked for a period at the Centre of Health Promotion Research at Curtin University with the Perth Active Living for Seniors (PALS) project and has completed some practical experience at the Cancer Council. Janet and her husband, with time permitting, enjoy getting away to the coast in their caravan
